Vigyaan relaunched with WordPress

After several years of maintaining vigyaan.com on the widely popular CMS platform “Joomla” – we’ve decided to move over to WordPress. Many factors behind the switch which I will list them here:

  1. Joomla is still a great platform for CMS, however not very suitable for “blog” applications.
  2. WordPress 3.0 brought a lot of interesting and exciting features that made it a compelling transition. Email Import, Stability, much larger plugin base etc.
  3. After struggling with many commenting components with Joomla, we learned that enabling commenting with Joomla was not at all easy.

This article is in no way a knock on Joomla, they’ve also done several enhancements and will be coming out with their newer version soon – it just made sense to move my blog to WordPress.
